Summer is just peeking over the horizon, and now’s the time to start planning and booking onto some of the incredible events coming to Coventry. The run-up to UK City of Culture in 2021 has increased the variety of events, and we’ve selected a few to whet your appetite.

Coventry This Summer

Coventry Transport Museum is hosting Jaguar Super Saturday (23 June), a free event with a themed section of ‘Racing Jaguars’. The museum is also free to enter, so it’s a great opportunity to see Coventry’s transport heritage combined with the glamour of Jaguar motors through the ages.

2018 is the centenary of the end of World War 1, and Coventry Cathedral will host Over There!, a selection of traditional, twentieth century and modern songs from both sides of the Atlantic, dedicated to world peace (28 June).

The landmark Coventry Evening Telegraph building will host two very different events in July. One takes the audience on an exciting journey against a looming deadline, around the cavernous building and through the last 50 years of Coventry life. The other is a unique cabaret in the Telegraph’s foyer where generations of people came to share their news with the paper.

How about a performance of The Tempest in the amazing setting of Kenilworth Castle? Pack a picnic and blanket (book your tickets in advance). Friday 10 August.

The RSPCA Annual Dog Show and Family Fun Day (19 August) is a fun day for the family and a great opportunity to explore the War Memorial Park.

The Godiva Festival 2018 31 August – 2 September is a brilliant free 3-day music festival held in Coventry and is a must. Ronan Keating is the first act to be announced, and keep an eye on their website for updates
